Studies how institutions and public policy produce inequality across societies, using cross-national data and multilevel modeling to examine stratification, labor markets, and access to opportunity through periods of economic change and global crisis.

Trained in sociology and in community development, and works between the two: the structures that distribute advantage, and the capacity communities hold to alter their own conditions.
